Kristen songwriter and performer in 'Into the Wild'

Besides playing Tracy Trato in the movie, Kristen performed two songs and wrote 'Tracy's song' with the singer/songwriter/music producer David Baerwald. :)

'Angel from Montgomery'
Performed by Kristen as Tracy & Emile Hirsch as Chris McCandless

John Prine has written this song for his self-titled 1971 album 'John Prine', but it's the Bonnie Raitt's 1974 version that is sung in the movie.

I am an old woman
named after my mother
My old man is another
child that's grown old
If dreams were thunder,
lightning were desire
This old house would have burnt down,
a long time ago
Make me an angel that flies from Montgomery
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a
hard way to go
'Tracy's song'
Performed by Kristen as Tracy & written by Kristen & David Baerwald

Ain't no wonder I've never had much to say
I'm just hanging on the wind
Ain't no wonder there's no song I wanna play
This ain't no life I'm living in
Some way, some way..
